Julie joined artsREACH as a theatre assistant in the fall of 2014, shortly after moving from Vancouver. Creative expression has always been an important part of her life, especially when growing up and feeling at odds with the world.
Julie is interested in how improvisation, movement and role-play can be a tool for personal healing, as well as how the arts can be employed to raise awareness surrounding social issues.
As part of the artsREACH team, Julie enjoys co-creating a playful and safe environment that is based upon respect, inclusivity and diversity. Julie has a Bachelors degree in Sociology and Gender Studies at UVIC. She has also taken a number of Film, Creative Writing and Fine Arts at UBC Okanagan.
Julie is a (dis)ability support worker in Victoria and is constantly learning from the people she works with.
