Brigid Skelton BFA, Program Coordinator and Visual Arts Instructor

brigid-skelton

Brigid grew up in Victoria in a very art-friendly home. As a child, she took her sketch book with her almost everywhere. Developing her skills with several art methods, including painting, stained-glass, mosaic, fabric design, digital media, and costume construction, Brigid has many years of arts experience.

In 2009 Brigid joined artsREACH as a Theatre Arts Instructor, soon began instructing Visual Arts workshops and has shared exciting arts experiences with hundreds of students since then. This year she’s also the artsREACH Program Coordinator.

Whether she is encouraging young actors to project their voices and perform their own plays on stage, or nurturing hesitant young artists to make that first mark on a BIG piece of paper, Brigid loves working with children and empowering them to express themselves through the arts.

Brigid holds a BFA in Visual Arts from UVic and a BC Professional Teaching Certificate, works as a Fine Arts Teacher on Call for SD63’s middle and high schools, and for West-Mont Montessori School in Metchosin.
