Theme for 2016-17:
Diversity: Makes the World Interesting!
In our 90-minute in-school drawing and painting workshops, K-5 students will:
- Generate and choose ideas by viewing art-filled “inspiration boards” and discussing personal experiences.
- Learn about various art-making tools and techniques. Several different ways to create patterns and textures using paint, scrapers and pastels will be shown.
- Make their own large-format piece of art, filling the paper with lines, shapes, colour, pattern, textures, images and symbols. Students may make and use recycled-cardboard scrapers.
- Share their process, ideas and artwork with instructors and fellow students in a “gallery-walk” and closing discussion.
