Our 10th annual fundraiser, Colour Your Palate, is on Tuesday April 11, 2017 at the Victoria Conference Centre.

What’s new this year?
Since 2007, Colour Your Palate has raised funds for the artsREACH program through a culinary competition and silent auction. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of this signature fundraiser, we wanted to add something special to the event and host it in a larger venue, so that more people could experience and enjoy this incredible culinary experience.
Naturally, it made sense to add wine to an event focused on food, so when an opportunity with the Naramata Bench Wineries Association (NBWA) was offered to us, we just couldn’t say no to the idea of integrating their wine into our event!
As our exclusive wine provider, the NBWA will showcase 18 to 21 of its wineries. Interspersed amongst 15 chefs, these wineries will provide and pour promotional wine for tasting throughout the event and donate wine packages to the silent auction.
The secret ingredient is … yellow?
Victoria’s version of the Iron Chef with a twist is the annual signature fundraising event for the artsREACH program. The event pits local chefs against each other to create a colour-inspired canapé, using a randomly drawn colour. Colours in previous draws include: yellow, blue, red, purple, orange, and green.
With their colour drawn one month before the event, chefs select their ingredients, experiment and perfect their canapé before the competition.
At the event, professional judges blind-taste and vote for winners in three categories: “Best Tasting Savoury Creation,” “Best Tasting Sweet Creation,” and “Most Colourful Creation.” Guests visit each chef’s station and sample each canapé. This year guests will also be invited to taste wines presented by up to 21 wineries from the Naramata Bench Wineries Association.
Guests vote for their favourite canapé as part of the “People’s Choice” award, bid in the Silent Auction and can win a fabulous door prize!
