How does artsREACH work?

Trained artsREACH instructors lead 90-minute workshops in public elementary schools. All the required materials for a workshop are provided by the artsREACH project.

Schools are able to choose from the three different types of workshops that are offered by artsREACH. Workshops in drawing, painting and theatre are run at no cost to the schools or students.

During the workshops, students express their individuality, build confidence and self-esteem by learning new skills and techniques and classroom teachers learn new techniques and skills by observing the professional instructors who facilitate these workshops.

A resource guide is provided to the classroom teachers so they can continue to build on the ideas generated during the workshops.

How does artsREACH pay for its programs?

Funds to cover the cost of workshops are raised through private donations, grants, sponsorships and fundraising events. Donations are tax deductible (CRA 86388 1074 RR0001).
